Our Mission

Helping veterans return to a new "Normal” by training and placing quality service dogs with veterans.

Honoring Those Who Served

We believe that veterans deserve the utmost respect and support for their service to our country. Our mission is to provide them with highly trained service dogs who can give them back some of what they have given us.

Our Commitment to Veterans

We understand the sacrifices that veterans have made for our country, and we are committed to showing our appreciation by providing them with the support they deserve. We believe that it is our duty as a society to honor and care for those who have bravely served in the military.

Transform Your Life with a Service Dog from USVSD

How We Began

United States Veterans Service Dogs (USVSD) was founded in 2018 by Cody Bellanger. At the time, Cody was the acting CEO of Southern Diabetic Retrievers (SDR) and saw an opportunity for the dogs to be given a new purpose beyond SDR, one that would still serve a greater cause. This purpose was found as working mobility and PTSD service dogs.

Apply For Our Program

Veterans who have served in their country's military may have experienced physical or mental trauma during their service. In some cases, this can lead to disabilities that impact their everyday lives. That's where service dogs come in - these specially trained animals can provide assistance and emotional support to veterans in need.

Donate and Support Our Program

Join us in supporting our Veterans by donating to our nonprofit organization, US Veterans Service Dogs. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of Veterans in need by providing them with specially trained service dogs to help them navigate daily life challenges. Together, we can help these brave men and women find their new normal and live their lives to the fullest. Your donation can make a difference - donate today and make a positive impact on the lives of our Veterans.

How has your life changed since receiving your service dog? My life has changed dramatically since I was partnered with Beignet. She has been able to provide me with a level of independence that I wasn’t sure was possible when I was first diagnosed with seizures. What is one thing you are able to do now that you couldn’t…

Jason and Gallant

How has your life changed since receiving your service dog? Since getting Gallant, I have had a reduction in my anxiety when being out in public. Especially the aggravation from a person standing too close to me in lines. When I am felling depressed, having Gallant there to comfort me means the world. When I got really low and had thoughts of ending my life, I was able to rely on him to give me the attention I needed so that I could pull myself back from the edge and continue. What is one thing you are able to do now that you couldn’t…
