William and Zola
How has your life changed since receiving your service dog?
I am more independent and have more confidence in public places. Also, Zola has been a huge asset in assisting me with my physical disability as well.
What is one thing you are able to do now that you couldn’t before receiving your dog?
Go to events that are crowded.
Describe your daily life with your service dog?
We go for a walk in the morning, then we run whatever errands and doctors appointments we have to attend and we usually do a fun outing for both Zola and I a few times a week.
What effect has your service dog had on the relationships in your life?
Zola has made a great impact on my family, when her best is off she is so loving with my children and wife, Zola is one of a kind and definitely a family member and my best friend.
What is one thing you would tell a fellow veteran that was considering a service dog?
Just remember not only is your service dog going to help you, but your service dog is a huge responsibility daily and financially with vet visits, quality food, treats, toys and proper supplements. And don’t forget training NEVER stops!
